About Macral-CT Soap

Macral-CT Soap combines the antifungal Ketoconazole 1% with the cationic antiseptic Cetrimide 0.5% in a medicated cleansing bar.

It is positioned for adjunctive use in tinea infections (especially tinea versicolor), fungal body cleansing in immunocompromised or moisture-prone patients, and antifungal recurrence prevention.

Mechanism of Action

Ketoconazole inhibits fungal 14-α-demethylase, blocking conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. The resulting depletion of ergosterol and accumulation of toxic sterol intermediates disrupts fungal cell membrane integrity, producing fungistatic and fungicidal effect. Particularly active against Malassezia (seborrhoeic dermatitis, tinea versicolor) and dermatophytes. Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium antiseptic that disrupts bacterial cell membranes, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial cover.
