About Mefrut-100 Tablet

Mechanism of Action
Mefenamic Acid is a fenamate-class NSAID — non-selective COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitor with additional antagonism at peripheral prostaglandin receptors. Particularly effective for menorrhagia and primary dysmenorrhoea due to additional effect on endometrial prostaglandin signalling.
Dosage & Administration
Older children: 1 tablet every 8 hours. Adults: 1–2 tablets every 8 hours.
Side Effects
GI upset, dyspepsia, diarrhoea (common with Mefenamic), peptic ulcer, headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
Contraindications & Precautions
Active peptic ulcer, severe inflammatory bowel disease, severe heart/hepatic/renal failure, third-trimester pregnancy, aspirin-sensitive asthma.
