About Orniwise IV Infusion

Mechanism of Action
Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole with longer half-life (~13 hours) than metronidazole — activated by anaerobic/protozoal enzymes to DNA-damaging nitro radicals.

Adults: 500 mg–1 g IV every 12 hours infused over 30 minutes.
Side Effects
Headache, dizziness, GI upset, metallic taste, peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use.
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity, first trimester pregnancy, lactation, history of CNS disorders. Avoid alcohol (disulfiram-like reaction less than metronidazole).
