About Petacold-Q Tablet

Petacold-Q Tablet is a comprehensive 5-component anti-cold + cough combination: Paracetamol 325 mg (PCM/antipyretic), Bromhexine 8 mg (mucolytic), Phenylephrine 5 mg (decongestant), Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg (antihistamine), Guaifenesin 50 mg (expectorant).

Indicated for productive cough with cold, common cold with chest congestion, allergic cough with nasal blockage and acute bronchitis.

Mechanism of Action

Paracetamol acts centrally for fever/pain. Bromhexine breaks mucopolysaccharide fibres in sputum, reducing viscosity. Phenylephrine decongests nasal mucosa. Chlorpheniramine (CPM) is a sedating H1 antihistamine controlling sneezing and rhinorrhoea. Guaifenesin increases respiratory tract secretions, thinning mucus and facilitating expectoration.
