About Vaxofer Ear Drops
Vaxofer Ear Drops is a multi-action ENT preparation combining Paradichlorobenzene 2% (cerumenolytic), Benzocaine 2.7% (local anaesthetic), Chlorbutol 5% (antiseptic-sedative), Turpentine Oil 15% (counter-irritant) and Butylated Hydroxyanisole 0.05% (antioxidant stabiliser).
It is used for softening and removal of impacted ear wax (cerumen), symptomatic relief of mild otalgia in otitis externa and as a pre-irrigation cerumen softener before clinical syringing.

Mechanism of Action
Paradichlorobenzene is an organic solvent that emulsifies and softens cerumen by disrupting the lipid–keratin matrix of ear wax. Turpentine Oil acts as a counter-irritant and helps loosen wax plugs. Benzocaine provides topical local anaesthesia by blocking sodium channels on sensory nerve endings, relieving mild otalgia. Chlorbutol is a mild antiseptic and sedative-hypnotic locally. Butylated Hydroxyanisole stabilises the preparation against oxidation.
Dosage & Administration
['Adults: Instill 3–5 drops into the affected ear, 2–3 times daily for 3–4 days', 'Lie on the opposite side for 5 minutes after instillation', 'Follow with warm-water ear syringing on the 4th day if needed', 'Do not use if ear drum is perforated']
