About Dolpril Cream
Dolpril Cream contains the eutectic mixture of Prilocaine 2.5% w/w and Lidocaine 2.5% w/w (EMLA-equivalent). It provides intact-skin local anaesthesia by penetrating the epidermis and dermis with sufficient depth for needle procedures and minor surgery.
It is widely used before venepuncture in children, IV cannulation, minor dermatological procedures, skin biopsy, laser treatments and split-skin graft donor sites.

Mechanism of Action
Both Lidocaine and Prilocaine are amide local anaesthetics that reversibly block voltage-gated sodium channels on nerve membranes, preventing depolarisation and the propagation of pain signals. The eutectic 1:1 mixture lowers the melting point and increases penetration through intact skin compared to either drug alone.
