About Ramipron-H 5/12.5 Tablet
Ramipron-H 5/12.5 Tablet contains Ramipril 5 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Ramipril is a long-acting ACE inhibitor with established cardioprotective benefit (HOPE trial — reduced CV death, MI and stroke in high-risk patients).
Indicated for hypertension, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, post-MI cardioprotection and prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action
Ramipril is a prodrug hydrolysed to ramiprilat, a potent angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. By blocking conversion of angiotensin I to II, it reduces vasoconstriction, aldosterone secretion and sympathetic activation — lowering BP and providing cardio-renal protection (HOPE trial). HCTZ adds thiazide diuretic effect.
