About Camicold-Q Tablet

Camicold-Q Tablet combines three respiratory actives: Bromhexine 4 mg (mucolytic), CPM 4 mg (antihistamine) and Guaifenesin 50 mg (expectorant) — for productive cough with mixed allergic and infective component. The triple action thins mucus, promotes its expectoration and reduces upper respiratory allergic symptoms simultaneously.

Bromhexine breaks down acid mucopolysaccharide fibres in mucus, reducing viscosity. Guaifenesin works as an expectorant by increasing the volume and decreasing the viscosity of bronchial secretions, easing their clearance. CPM provides antihistamine action for the allergic component frequently present in URI-associated cough.

Camicold-Q is manufactured by Trumac Healthcare under WHO-GMP conditions. Available for monopoly-based PCD pharma franchise and third-party manufacturing.

Indications

  • Productive cough with thick mucus
  • Cough with allergic component
  • Acute bronchitis with mucus hypersecretion
  • Post-URI persistent productive cough
  • Cough associated with allergic rhinitis

Mechanism of Action

Bromhexine breaks disulphide bonds in mucoprotein fibres, reducing mucus viscosity. Guaifenesin stimulates respiratory tract secretions, lowering surface tension and viscosity of mucus to ease expectoration. CPM blocks H1 receptors, controlling histamine-mediated mucosal symptoms.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet three times daily for 5–7 days. Take with adequate fluids to enhance expectoration.

Side Effects

Drowsiness (CPM), GI upset, nausea, dry mouth. Rare hypersensitivity reactions.

Contraindications & Precautions
