About Igumac-25 Tablet
Igumac-25 Tablet contains Iguratimod 25 mg — a newer-generation DMARD approved for rheumatoid arthritis. Useful as alternative or add-on to Methotrexate, particularly in Methotrexate intolerance or inadequate response.
Mechanism: inhibits NF-κB activation, suppressing TNF-alpha, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8 and immunoglobulin production by B-cells — broader cytokine suppression than single-target biologics.

Indications
- Rheumatoid arthritis (DMARD-naïve or DMARD-resistant)

Mechanism of Action
Iguratimod inhibits NF-κB nuclear translocation reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine transcription (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, IL-8). Also reduces immunoglobulin synthesis by B-cells. Slower onset than corticosteroids but disease-modifying.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 25 mg once daily for 4 weeks, then increase to 25 mg twice daily.
Side Effects
GI upset, abnormal LFTs (monitor every 4 weeks initially), rash, infection risk.
Contraindications & Precautions
Severe hepatic impairment, pregnancy, lactation, severe infections, hypersensitivity, on warfarin (interaction).
