About Dorzolin-T Eye Drops
Dorzolin-T Eye Drops combines the topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor Dorzolamide 2% w/v with the non-selective beta-blocker Timolol 0.5% w/v in a single fixed-dose preparation.
It is indicated in open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension where monotherapy with either component is insufficient — the dual mechanism produces an additive intraocular-pressure (IOP) reduction.
Camrut Healthcare manufactures Dorzolin-T Eye Drops under WHO-GMP injectable conditions for PCD pharma franchise across India.
Indications
- Primary open-angle glaucoma
- Ocular hypertension
- Pseudo-exfoliation glaucoma
- Pigment dispersion glaucoma
- Adjunctive IOP reduction
Mechanism of Action
Dorzolamide is a topical sulphonamide carbonic anhydrase II inhibitor that reduces aqueous humour formation in the ciliary epithelium. Timolol is a non-selective beta-blocker that reduces aqueous secretion by blocking beta-receptors on the ciliary body. The complementary mechanisms produce additive IOP reduction of around 25–30% from baseline.
