About Macral-Plus Soap

Macral-Plus Soap contains Ketoconazole 2% in a glycerin-enriched moisturising soap base — providing antifungal action without the typical dryness of medicated bars.

Mechanism of Action

Ketoconazole inhibits fungal 14-α-demethylase, blocking conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. The resulting depletion of ergosterol and accumulation of toxic sterol intermediates disrupts fungal cell membrane integrity, producing fungistatic and fungicidal effect. Particularly active against Malassezia (seborrhoeic dermatitis, tinea versicolor) and dermatophytes. The glycerin component is a humectant that draws moisture into the stratum corneum, counteracting the drying effect of soap and providing better tolerability for daily use.
