About Methocus-10 Tablet
Methocus-10 Tablet contains Methoxsalen 10 mg, a furocoumarin photosensitiser used in oral PUVA (psoralen + UVA) therapy. The tablet is taken 1.5–2 hours before controlled UVA exposure under dermatologist supervision.
Indicated for moderate-to-severe psoriasis, vitiligo, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (mycosis fungoides — early stages) and certain photodermatoses.

Mechanism of Action
Methoxsalen is a furocoumarin that intercalates between DNA base pairs. On UVA exposure (320–400 nm), it forms covalent cross-links with thymine on opposite DNA strands, halting DNA synthesis in dividing cells. In psoriasis this suppresses hyperproliferative keratinocytes; in vitiligo it stimulates melanocyte migration from hair follicles into depigmented patches.
