About Desowise Cream
Desowise Cream contains Desonide 0.05%, a low-potency (Class VI) topical corticosteroid. The low potency makes it appropriate for sensitive skin areas (face, intertriginous folds), paediatric use and prolonged treatment of mild inflammatory dermatoses.
It is indicated for atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children, contact dermatitis, mild psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis and other inflammatory skin conditions where higher-potency steroids would be unsafe.

Mechanism of Action
Desonide is a non-fluorinated low-potency synthetic corticosteroid. It binds glucocorticoid receptors in skin cells, inducing lipocortin-1 production which inhibits phospholipase A2. This reduces release of arachidonic acid and downstream production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, suppressing the inflammatory cascade.
