About Desvion-50 Tablet
Desvion-50 Tablet contains Desvenlafaxine 50 mg — the major active metabolite of venlafaxine, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). Used for major depressive disorder (MDD), generalised anxiety disorder, vasomotor symptoms of menopause and selected chronic pain syndromes.
Desvenlafaxine offers more predictable pharmacokinetics than venlafaxine (no requirement for hepatic conversion), fewer drug interactions, and reduced potential for blood pressure effects at therapeutic doses.

Mechanism of Action
Desvenlafaxine inhibits the reuptake of both serotonin and norepinephrine at presynaptic neurons, increasing synaptic concentrations of both monoamines. Minimal effect on other receptor systems.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 50 mg once daily. May be increased to 100 mg if needed.
Side Effects
Nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, somnolence, hyperhidrosis, sexual dysfunction. Blood pressure should be monitored.
Contraindications & Precautions
MAOI use within 14 days. Severe hepatic impairment. Severe renal impairment (caution). Suicidal ideation history (caution and counselling).
