Glucim-V 1/0.3 SR Tablet contains Glimepiride 1 mg + Metformin 500 mg + Voglibose 0.3 mg (SR). The combination provides three complementary mechanisms: Glimepiride stimulates insulin secretion, Metformin reduces hepatic glucose output, and Voglibose delays intestinal carbohydrate digestion to flatten the post-prandial glucose peak.
It is particularly suited to patients with type-2 diabetes showing prominent post-prandial hyperglycaemia despite dual oral therapy.

Mechanism of Action
Glimepiride closes pancreatic K-ATP channels, triggering insulin secretion. Metformin activates AMPK, suppressing hepatic glucose output. Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor in the small-intestinal brush border, delaying breakdown of disaccharides and oligosaccharides — flattening the post-prandial glucose rise.
