Mechanism of Action
Omeprazole irreversibly inhibits gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) — markedly suppressing both basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. Domperidone enhances upper GI motility.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 capsule once daily before breakfast.
Side Effects
Headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain. Long-term: B12 deficiency, hypomagnesaemia, fracture risk. Hyperprolactinaemia, QT prolongation (Domperidone).
Contraindications & Precautions
Hypersensitivity, on clopidogrel (CYP2C19 inhibition reduces clopidogrel activation), severe hepatic impairment. Prolactinoma, QT prolongation.
